About me
I'm Graham. I live in Crete and I teach F5.
I've lived in Crete permanently since 2019 and I'm an EU resident, with a training company in the UK and one in the EU. Alongside the courses I still have active F5 customers across banking, petrochemical, insurance, government agencies and the airline industry. My ambition is simple: to keep teaching F5, properly, for as long as people want to learn it.

Developer first. Then the network. Then F5.
Applications, since 1995
Application architecture, databases, networking, security and delivery. I still write code, which is why I can explain what a WAF is actually protecting rather than just where the tick-box is.
Networks, 2000 to 2006
Six years deep in Cisco before moving into application delivery and security. That is where the traffic-flow thinking comes from: what the packet is doing, not what the GUI says.
F5, since 2008
Working on F5 since 2008, first certification exam November 2012, teaching F5 since 2013. LTM, DNS, ASM, APM and AFM in production for banks, airlines and government across Europe, then taught to the engineers who run them.
Off the clock
Mostly outdoors, mostly moving
I walk all over Crete, well over 100 km a week, and I walk my neighbours' dogs while I'm at it. I've run the Samaria Gorge and cycled the length of the island, and on the mainland from Patras to Piraeus. When I was younger I ran three times for the England under-21 athletics squad and played in a five-a-side league in London. I'm 58 now and the exercise matters more, not less.
My girlfriend is Greek and we live together in the village. She runs a tourism business in the summer; in the winter we work on the same business side by side.
Some history
Tourism, events, and one exam in East London
I've been writing software since I was 26. Along the way I built several tourism websites, some of which became quite popular, and applications for tourism and other businesses. For a time I ran Greek events in the UK at the O2 Arena, well over 3,000 people, twice each November.
I took my first F5 exam in November 2012, in East London, still buzzing from the Olympics. No blueprints, no study guides, no lab licences. You learned it, you sat it, and the score came up on the screen at the end.
